My husband and I  decided to sell our home in the country so that we could relocate to the city while we renovated our house at the lake. We knew that the market was becoming soft and felt that it was a good time to downsize and take advantage of the current market. We hired Ellen Pratt to be our listing agent as well as help us find a home in the city. Ellen was competent, warm, professional and insightful.
When Ellen arrived at our house, she came prepared with comps to talk market price and selling strategy, then diligently walked through and around our home and sized it up for us. She gave us a very specific list of "fix-it/improve-it" recommendation so that we could receive the best price for our home. While our hou se was on the market, Ellen kept in touch with us and informed us of other houses on the market that were in competition with our property. She held regular open houses and designed and published a beautiful brochure to attract interest in our property. She was very effective at creating an interest in our property and stayed in touch with the prospective buyers. A lot of listing agents are not the sellers of the properties that they list. In our case, Ellen both listed and sold our house. She was superb at maintaining a professional relationship as both the selling and buying agent. In the meantime, Ellen spent a lot of time with us helping us find a new home. She was always available to show us properties and helped us make the best choice for our needs.
We have hired nearly a dozen realtors thus far in our lives, and I can honestly say, after one purchase experience and one selling experience with Ellen, she is simply the best. The overall support, responsiveness, insights and advice we received from her in both transactions was simply beyond compare.
